The Dept. of Asian Studies seeks to appoint an assistant professor (tenure-track) of Modern Chinese Literature to begin July 1, 2008. The successful candidate is expected to have a doctorate in a relevant field of study, an outstanding research agenda, excellent knowledge of Mandarin Chinese, demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, and evidence of excellence in scholarship. Applicants should send a letter of application describing their research interests and agenda, a current CV, complete graduate transcripts, and evidence of teaching effectiveness, and should arrange for three letters of reference to be sent to the Chair, Modern Chinese Literature Search, Dept. of Asian Studies, Univ. of British Columbia, Asian Centre 403, 1871 West Mall, Vancouver, BC,Canada, V6T 1Z2.
